As a wellness practitioner, I'm aware of the affects of chronic stress and grief on our health. The good news is there's an antidote! These are my superheros....

I often feel like there's nothing of significance I can do about the big scary things. Especially on my heart, most days, is the climate crisis and mass extinction....the mere crumbling of our life-support system and all we love so dearly. Yup, it's big. And scary! And we are continuously being distracted with the message "don't look up!" Haven't seen the 2021 film by Adam McKay? It's a must see!

It makes me sad that kids and teens often seem to be the ones brave enough to look up while we adults continue gazing down at our Facebook feeds. That said, they give me hope and courage to do what I can and to join with others who are taking action. Action is the antidote to hopelessness!

A local group, Climate Action Alliance of the Valley (CAAV) is joining with over 230 other groups to sponsor a petition supporting these 21 superheros!

These young people have been fighting climate change for almost 7 years with a lawsuit, Juliana v. United States, just waiting for their day in court! The adults in the room, those with power at the Department of Justice, are using delay tactics and trying to dismiss their case!

Despite President Biden’s promises to listen to youth and address the climate crisis, his DOJ is still actively opposing the Juliana case. Now people around the world like us are joining these courageous youth!

What you can do to join...

1. Add your name to the petition HERE!

2. Next, please use this Social Media Toolkit with sample social media graphics and text to show your support of the Juliana 21 and encourage your friends and family to sign the petition as well.

3. Stay involved by joining an online mailing list here, hosted by Our Children’s Trust, to receive updates and action alerts about the Juliana case and other youth-led climate litigation!

4. Educate yourself! Watch the documentary YOUTH v GOV about Juliana v US and its plaintiffs available on Netflix

Thank you for this, Charlotte! I have been following the Juliana v US group for some years, but I guess I hadn't yet signed their petition. Now I have! And I want to subscribe to everything you are doing in your new project. Thank you for caring about these matters; I feel your companionship.
